Education

I am a recent graduate from Wesleyan University (Middletown, CT). I was a double major in Economics and History with minors in International Relations and Critical Theory. I had a 3.9 cumulative GPA and graduated with high honors.

Experience

Do you need advice on how to BEST present yourself to a College Admissions Committee? I am looking to coach motivated and high potential students who need individualized guidance on how to apply for college. Relevant Experience: -Recent college graduate from a Little Ivy school with 4+ years experience of working at the Admissions office. -Led 40+ information sessions for prospective students and families. -Held college interview workshops in various settings from elite boarding schools in CT to inner-city public high schools in NJ. -As a Senior Interviewer, evaluated 75+ prospective students as part of their application process. Areas of focus I can provide help with: -Improve and sharpen your college interview skill set -Edit and sharpen writing for college essays -Edit and evaluate college application to make sure it best represents YOU -Advise whether or not to submit test scores if any schools you are applying to are "Test Optional" -Provide specific insight on the important qualities a Dean of Admission will be looking for while reading your application Prices negotiable. ------------------------------------------------------------------- I have significant experience in tutoring, having worked with peers since I was in 10th grade. In college, I participated in three different tutoring programs with children ranging from 2nd grade to sophomores in college. Along with these experiences, I specialize in college admissions (essays, interviews, preparing applications, finding the right fit). I served as an admissions representative at Wesleyan for four years, including a final year as a Senior Interviewer, thus playing a direct role in admissions decisions. I earned a 34 on my ACTs including perfect scores in the writing and reading sections, and a 35 in math. I took 10 AP classes in high school, scoring 5s on all 12 tests (including two that I self-studied for). I want to be a tutor to engage with my community more personally, as a newer resident of the DC area. I take cultural competency very seriously and have been successful as a tutor in various countries and socioeconomic settings. In addition, improving college readiness and access is a special interest of mine as an immigrant and first generation college student. I hope to help students feel more ready and capable in college settings, as I understand first-hand how it feels to feel poorly equipped despite having been accepted to two Ivy League schools and attending an elite liberal arts college.

Hobbies

Aside from loving my job as a researcher at a think tank, I love to hike, cook, and make music with friends. I'm always planning a trip somewhere and also volunteer to foster dogs in my spare time. My foremost passion, however, is the beautiful game of football (soccer around these parts). Arsenal Football Club, in particular, is my truest inspiration and I would do anything for the club!
