Experience
History, Poli Sci and writing in general are all areas I have excelled in and enjoy personally. They are also subjects I like to help others with. I try to enhance the history lessons by providing the interesting stories behind the dates and events in the textbooks. That way, it is more engaging to students of all ages, and more information is retained. In the area of Poli Sci, I have an understanding of international relations and try to link the theory to current events for a similar reason as the stories in history. It makes the subject more compelling and hones the analysis skills. I also have knowledge of American government and can help students decipher the Federalist Papers or understand Tocqueville. I have experience tutoring middle school students in History and Writing at Our Neighborhood Homework House in Azusa, California. Was also recognized as a Model Mentor for my performance there. Often tutored classmates in Political Science during undergrad. Specialized in developing term paper topics, targeting research, and helped them structure and organize their papers. Presented an academic paper at a Political Science conference on China and security issues.
