Private tutor in Washington, DC
Mount Holyoke College - Bachelors, Biochemistry , Stanford University - PHD, Chemistry
I received my bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Mt. Holyoke College. From there, I attended Stanford University and completed a Ph.D. in Chemistry. While in academia, I gained experience in both tutoring privately and teaching classes. Being able to help students was one of the most rewarding experiences of graduate school. Because of this, I want to continue tutoring and mentoring while I branch outside of the academic sector.I am equipped to tutor a wide variety of subjects, but my absolute favorite subject to tutor is organic chemistry. While many students find it to be intimidating, with the right guidance and teaching methodology, organic chemistry can be a fun and engaging subject. As with any subject, to achieve success, students must devote time and effort into their studies. On the students' end, a good attitude and dedication go a long way. From the teacher's side, simplified explanations, good examples that the students can relate to, and a number of practice exercises will help the students overcome any struggles.Aside from academia, I am now in pursuit of another topic that interests me, policy. My other hobbies include reading books, being around my family and friends, and playing my cello. I recently moved to Washington D.C., and whenever I have free time, I love exploring the city.
