Experience
Currently, I work in Washington D.C. as a librarian. I have teaching certification in English Literature, English Writing, and Professional Writing. I attended the University of Pittsburgh-Pittsburgh Campus and the Catholic University of America, which is where I became passionate about the English language and English Literature. I have been teaching and tutoring students from the very young to seniors in high school for six years, and helping them with their Reading and Writing skills. The one-on-one experience is the best way to tutor students and interact with them to find their own writing style. The key to becoming comfortable with writing and writing under pressure, like in class essays, is to develop confidence in your abilities. The best way to do this is to create a base of strong language skills and then practice, practice, and practice some more. The more you write, the more you will become self-reliant and believe that you can deliver a solid writing performance. I tutor in the areas of Reading, Writing, Essay Editing, Literature, Grammar and Mechanics, College Essays, English, and English as a Second Language. When the weather permits, I enjoy cycling around the D.C. area. I also enjoy, music, theater, vegetarian cooking, and practicing yoga.
