Private tutor in Washington, DC
Allegheny College - Bachelors, Economics
I graduated from Allegheny College with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics along with a Mathematics minor. I also scored very high on the Math section of the SAT. Since graduation I have worked with a diverse client base in the financial services industry, utilizing my talents in analytical problem solving. The financial services field requires continuous training and testing to stay abreast of industry trends, a practice I introduce to students in building their preparedness. As a tutor I strive to help students learn beyond simply solving a problem. I want to be sure every student gains a keen awareness of a subject and builds their ability to make the best use of their time. I also offer suggestions to students to first focus attention on specific problems they understand and can solve quickly or with some key tips, as well as increasing their test-taking comfort levels. These approaches have shown a successful track record of academic results for my students. I also present challenges with my lessons that push students to harness every bit of their learning abilities. My hobbies and interests include comedy podcasts, fantasy sports, and playing basketball and ultimate Frisbee.
