Experience

I found out I loved teaching at 17, when I'd tutor students in French at my high school. During this after school program, I'd teach those in lower grades while providing help with homework. Two of my French teachers instructed me on other tasks. Since then, I've acquired the ability to help with elementary and middle school math, Spanish, accounting, electrical and computer engineering, and science. Also, I have worked with youth in areas such as financial literacy and the GED exam in year-round and summer programs.I've taken Advancing Youth Development courses to learn to help young students use resources, find their strengths, and figure out/achieve their goals. I'm passionate about teaching, and patient, which add to the lists of things making me great at tutoring. It's important to me that the student understands the material and the moment they 'get it' is very satisfying.I attended Kenya Polytechnic University College and now live in Washington, D.C. Languages and cultures are a major interest but I am also fascinated by sports and space exploration.
