Experience
I earned my degrees in biology and English at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Since graduation, I've worked to develop curricula and as a teacher in a formal classroom setting. I spent a period teaching genetics and evolution at Duke University. I also developed their science programs, which I later taught. For a year and a half, I taught high school Japanese students to speak and write English. My love for education is reflected in my career choices. I deeply enjoy science education. I'm currently working to improve science classes in American education. While my preferred subjects are writing and life sciences, I can provide students with access to test preparation for the MCAT, GRE, SAT, and other tests. I work with students to improve their college essays, better their understanding of the concepts of comparative literature, and to develop better study skills. I believe that students should be challenged while they learn to get the most out of education. They should be encouraged to take advantage of the opportunities available to improve their educational success. I have many hobbies outside of teaching. I enjoy baking breads, watching basketball, going running, and reading. I try to make time for coffee with friends regularly.
