Education

Wake Forest University - Bachelors, Anthropology

Experience

I received my bachelor's degree in anthropology at Wake Forest University. I'm now completing my coursework at the University of Toronto to become certified in teaching English as a foreign language. I'm easy to get along with, supportive, and patient, which I feel are important qualities in a good tutor. I love tutoring students at the high school level, and I can assist them with AP coursework, IB coursework, and preparation for the ACT, SAT, PSAT, and other standardized tests. I'm determined to help my students have the same kind of success I've had in academics, and I will work as hard as they do to help them achieve their goals. My anthropology background has helped me understand different cultures, and I can utilize this when I tutor to provide different perspectives and ways to look at concepts students struggle to understand. I will adjust my teaching methods to match the learning style of my student, and I will create a comfortable and encouraging environment for students to learn effectively.
