Education

Former high school and middle school science teacher looking to use my teaching skills so I don't lose them! Psychology and biology enthusiast with 7 years of tutoring and 3 years of teaching under my belt. Experience

Since high school, I've worked on and off as a tutor for high school, middle school, and elementary school for English/Language Arts. A lot of the focus in these sessions would be on reading comprehension, essay writing, and developing good study skills. I've also been teaching 10th grade biology and general middle school science for the last three years, which has allowed me to gain really great insight into how to assist students in STEM subjects. Teaching has also deepened my love of psychology, which was my major in college, so I'm always happy to help out with anything psych-related! I want to be a tutor because 1) I think it would be a great opportunity to continue practicing my teaching skills as I transition out of the classroom and 2) I had an amazing tutor when I was in high school who really helped me a lot and I would love to be able to give back!

I'm a very laid-back person. When I'm not teaching, I am reading, writing, watching tv, or hanging out with friends (or my giant dog!). I enjoy all things theater- singing, acting, and (badly) dancing. I'm currently applying to graduate school programs for counseling psychology, so I'm always happy for the nice distraction that tutoring can bring. I love working with kids and teens, so I'm excited to once again add tutoring to my list of activities I do in my free time!
