Experience

I have over 4 years of experience teaching English as a Second Language to adult learners. As an ESOL Instructor for the Arlington Education and Employment Program (REEP), I taught classes of up to 30 students (at various levels) in reading, writing, grammar, speaking, and phonics. While I'm no longer in the classroom on a full-time basis, I'm fortunate to still have the opportunity to substitute and interact with students. My teaching style blends my personal experiences as a first-generation American with a culturally diverse background, my knowledge of adult learning principles, and facilitation best practices. I find that writing and reading are fundamental to developing strong language skills and I encourage my students to make these central to their learning.
