Education

Rising senior at Yale University Double major in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies

Experience

I am a pre-medical student at Yale University studying Biology and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. I have a passion for science and writing, and my goal in tutoring is to share this enthusiasm, as well as my test-taking knowledge, with each student. My experiences working in biology research labs at Harvard and Yale Medical School have honed my ability to work collaboratively and communicate clearly, and my role as co-director of the Yale Hunger & Homelessness Action Project has given me experience in mentoring younger students. I have been inspired by many teachers over the years and I believe that true mastery of a subject begins with a teacher who can show the student why the material matters and make learning fun. My tutoring approach is to first help students understand the material deeply and then to teach test-taking strategies to master standardized tests.
