Marguerite F.
Private tutor in Washington, DC
Education
I am a elementary and special education major at Montgomery College with a 3.89 GPA. I'm a member of the CREATE cohort, Pi Theta Kappa Honors society, and dean's list. I will be graduating with my Associates of Arts in Teaching (AAT) in spring 2017 and continuing on to Towson at Shady Grove or the University of Maryland to get a bachelors in elementary special and general education.
Experience
I have been a babysitter for five years and I love incorporating learning opportunities into activities. I struggled through elementary school and started to hate learning when I got a tutor that helped to instil a passion for learning that drives my education to become a special education teacher. So I want to become a tutor to help students gain confidence in themselves and their ability to succeed academically. As part of my education at Montgomery college I have done a field experience in Montgomery County elementary schools to observe and learn from teachers. While there I have worked with students in a variety of ways including working with individuals and groups of students.

Hobbies
I have had a passion for reading all my life but it really flourished after picking up Harry Potter. Ever since i have devoured any book that I could get my hands on. All throughout middle and high school I was in the school choir. Although I am no longer in a choir, I still have a passion for singing and music. Though not good at it, I love painting, drawing, knitting, scrapbooking, and making art journals. I also have a passion for cooking and baking.
