Genevieve F.
Private tutor in Washington, DC
Education
I graduated in May from the University of California, Berkeley, with a major in Development Studies (i.e. Global Poverty and Development) and a 3.85 GPA.
Experience
I have two years of tutoring experience through the Student Athletic Center at UC Berkeley. I tutored in the following subject areas: Anthropology, Sociology, Reading Comprehension/Writing, and Psychology. While much of my tutoring consisted of helping students draft and revise their papers, I also assisted them in time management and general study/writing skills. I want to continue tutoring because I have gained great satisfaction working with other Berkeley students as their tutor throughout this semester and hope to continue helping other students advance in their studies. My major at Berkeley (Development Studies) was interdisciplinary, so I have taken courses in History, Geography, Economics, English, and many other fields. I maintained above an A- average. I am proficient in Spanish, having studied it in both high school and college. Additionally, I studied abroad in Cordoba, Spain, spent two summers working in Spain, and the months volunteering in Nicaragua, which greatly improved my Spanish language skills.

Hobbies
I love to travel, meet new people, try new food, and experience new cultures. I have spent time traveling around Thailand, Portugal, Israel, Turkey, Greece, England, and Morocco. Additionally, I studied abroad for one semester in Cordoba, Spain and traveled extensively throughout Spain during that time and have since spent two more summers working in Spain, as well as three months in Nicaragua. Most of my hobbies involve the outdoors - hiking, camping, skiing and snowboarding, and playing tennis. I am also an avid cook and constantly seek out new restaurants to meet all of my cravings.
