University of Central Florida - BS, Molecular Biology and Microbiology , University of Georgia - PhD, Microbiology

Experience

I have much experience teaching biology and microbiology laboratory classes. My strategies for tutoring include working in a non-threatening setting. The goal is for the student to be comfortable enough to ask questions. I like to draw things out to help them memorize, while videos are great for mastering certain concepts. Having been a mentor to people from K-12 and in college, I tutor many aspects of biology. When tutoring, I don't only go over key topics, but also discuss the student's career goals. My ears are always wide open while I can't help but be sympathetic. We can even talk about baking, pets, or sports!I have a microbiology PhD, which I received at the University of Georgia. In addition, I attended the University of Central Florida. Located in Washington D.C., I enjoy dancing, baking, crocheting, and walking my dog when not hard at work or tutoring the students who need my help.
