Private tutor in Washington, DC
Howard University - BS, Chemical Engineering
Currently, I'm attending Howard University in Washington, D.C. to pursue my Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. As an engineering student, I excel at science and math, and I often spend time tutoring other college students in both subjects. I understand that subjects, especially math subjects, are difficult to some students. So, when I teach, I try to help the student understand the subject by relating it to problems that arise in real-life situations. I feel that relating the subject to other areas of life helps students comprehend the subject easier and retain what they study. I have experience tutoring both high school and college students in pre-algebra, algebra, pre-calculus, calculus, differential equations, finite mathematics, geometry, chemistry, chemical engineering, biomolecular engineering, organic chemistry, and physics. Additionally, I'm available to tutor students of all ages in science, math -- including elementary and middle school math -- and arithmetic. In addition to science and math subjects, I enjoy tutoring students in Spanish, English, and writing. I'm also fond of helping students with test prep, especially ACT science and math, and helping college students write and edit essays. In my spare time, I enjoy shopping, spending time with my friends, going to the movies, and swimming.
