Private tutor in Washington, DC
Education
I started my undergraduate career at the University of Massachusetts. Here I studied physics and maintained an average GPA of 3.98 over two semesters at an average of 20 credit hours per semester. Since then I have transferred to the University of Maryland at College Park where I have continued to study physics with an average GPA of 3.8. The decrease in GPA is partially due to the increased difficulty of course material, but also due to my increased involvement with campus research.
Experience
I have been grading for the math department for over a year now, which allows me the opportunity to assist students with their coursework in a wide variety of topics in math. By utilizing local tutoring services myself I was able to score a 2150 on the SAT, and a 34 on the ACT. I’ve seen firsthand how helpful tutoring can be for a young person to get into a good college, and I’d like to repay that service. My ultimate career goal is a professorship in physics, to get there I need a great deal of experience gaining and teaching information, tutoring is a great way to do that and support myself, while simultaneously helping young people get into college, and hopefully, inspiring some new physics majors while I’m at it! While studying physics I have taken Differential, Integral, and vector calculus. In addition to Ordinary Differential equations, Linear Algebra, Proof Geometry, and mathematical methods for physicists. I have also taken courses that touch on number theory, probability and statistics, and graded for statistics and calculus classes. I have also taken several SAT classes, and ACT classes in addition to familiarizing myself with all current test material and strategies for success on the exams. I have been a professional undergraduate researcher for one and a half years now, I have become very familiar with good methods to get noticed by professors and get research. I would happily offer my services to anyone who wants to improve their resume, or draft professional emails to prospective research advisers!

Hobbies
My hobbies are rather boring I’m afraid! I enjoy building robots, computer games, running, climbing, cooking, drawing, writing, physics, and math! Among my favorite games of all time: Minecraft, World of Warcraft, Overlord, and Mass Effect. They are the primary reasons that I do not have a 4.0! Here's a tip for free, though! Your hobbies are who you are! never let them slip.
