Smith College - BA, French Studies
I am an alumna of Smith College. I spent several years studying abroad in France and Germany while I was working toward my bachelor's degree. I became fluent in French and German during the pursuit of my undergraduate degree, so I have a unique empathy for the difficulties adult learners face as they learn a new language. I have experience teaching introductory German to adult students, tutoring intermediate German on an individual basis, and tutoring elementary students in reading on a volunteer basis.I'm fond of tutoring students of all ages in all levels of German and French. I can also help students enrolled in AP French Language and Culture. I believe learning a new language helps students look at the world in a new way. I try to convey my love of language exploration to all of my students, whether we're working on vocabulary, phonetics, or grammar. I like to show my students how I use my language skills on a daily basis during my work as a lawyer and translator, which serves as a great example of how languages can be useful in the real world. In my spare time, I like to visit art exhibitions, attend chamber music concerts, read, and travel.
